We are looking for a fun campground/resort to take the kids in August. We in the Northern Virginia area and have hit all the Yogi's around us and was looking for something different. Have been looking in PA and WV as well. The kids really like the splash zones/slide, so would really like to find a place like that.

Thanks.

If you would consider something other than a campground themed place type, try Knoebels Amusement Resort. They offer 2 campgrounds, one adjacent to the park. I believe it's $50 a night but the park & HUGE swimming pool with 2 slides are extra. What is great about this place is it's free to walk around the park & it is in a very nice in the mountain type location. The amusement rides are pay as you go anytime or week days you can do a handstamp. Also, Hershey & Dorney Parks, both offer waterparks inside their amusement parks and have campgrounds near by. Hershey Campground offers shuttle buses to the park. In the Pocono's you'll find Camelbeach -skil resort turned waterpark in the summer plus they added all kinds of climbing & zipline adventures. Not too far from here is Bushkill Falls and a great place to experience but could be a hike of steps with little ones.

Like i said, not sure if those are an option but i've stayed at Yogi in Quarryville numerous times cause the kids LOVE it, but it kills me to spend $200 for a camping weekend (usually more cause they take friends) with that little tiny water area...LOL By camping elsewhere, we could spend an extra $100 & all spend the day at the bigger park & enjoy camping! Best of both worlds!

Bull Run Regional Park just outside DC, very clean well run. Gets good reviews also.

How were the sites at Bull Run. Read some reviews about site not being level, hard to get into and utilities on the wrong side. How about the noise from Dulles airport and the shooting range? The water park does look awesome.

Thanks,
Gene

The resort looks really nice. How were the sites? Did they have full hook up?

Thanks,
Gene

yeah, when we were there we had a issue with our hook ups , power box located in wrong area where we needed to use our extension cord. didn't really noticed noise from shooting range or airport. Sites were average in size but LOTS of space between your camping neighbors.

Even though our site hookups we not the best we didn't consider it a deal breaker, but to each his own.

Hope this helps,
Mike
