This Saturday, June 30th, the NASCAR Sprint Cup comes to Sparta, Ky.
Last year, I-71 at exit 57 was a parking lot for much of the day due to crowds attending the race.
After last year's race, KDOT added extra exit lanes, but this Saturday will be the first time its been tested. Unless you're going to the race or want to test the fixes in person, it might be a good place to avoid. The race starts at 6:30PM, but the crowd starts early in the day.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.
Went last year to the race, no way I would ever go back. Waited 6 hrs after the race and still was stop and go bumper to bumper all the way back to I-75 at 6am in the morning. Even if they added ways to get in and out of the track , I don't see how it would be any different once you get to i-71. not for me.

Can't say that I blame you. Cincinnati is a hub for I-75, I-71 and I-74. There's so much truck traffic in addition to the auto traffic.
They supposeably fixed all those problems. More parking at track, bigger tunnel under track, different exit ramps, and different others stuff. They promise no problems like last year. They had this on the news here from Louisville stations. Now there is lots of construction on I-65 Kennedy bridge, and other areas in and around Louisville.
