Hi all. I have my brand new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4x4. We'll be Off-Roading Colorado San Juans. I've been told it will be necessary to reduce the tire presure from the normal of 40 psi to about 25 psi for better traction. I have the GoodYear Wrangler tires with factory Tire Presure Monitor system. How can I reduce presure without setting off the Dash Warning System/light? I've been told some systems will automatically reduce my speed if reduced presure is sensed.

Your vehicle manual will tell you how to reset the pressure. Hope it is less involved than on my truck.

I also have 2012 Jeep Wrangler sport. Mine is the 4 door Unlimited. Stock Goodyear Wrangler tires.

I think the tire pressure warning comes on at about 30psi. I have had one tire low before. It just displays a light and maybe a warning. Easy to ignore if you need.

Normally I run 35 psi. Unless you are going on some of the harder trails, I would leave it at 35. Lowering the the tire pressure is necessary if you are going to do the harder rock crawling trails so the tires grip around the rocks.

There are products you can buy that will adjust the setting where the tire pressure monitor comes on.
