Does anyone know if they make an air filter or intake for my 87 Ford 460? If so can you let me know where to find it, or part #? Thanks.

its all 99% hype ,just use a paper filter ,it,ll take ten yrs to get your money back. and you won,t see the differance in your mpg.

but you will see an increase of silica (dirt) in the oil if you get an oil analysis. to flow more air (only needed at very large throttle openings) you need to let in more air. the only way to do that without making the filter area larger is to open up the mesh size, which will let in more dirt as well. great for racing, where the engine is overhauled every race/week/month/year. not so great for an rv.

If that is true then maybe going with K&N is not ideal?

I would not waste my $$ on one. Had one on my 2000 Power Stroke, saw no difference in mileage, performance and it was a mess to clean. Threw it away after 2 years.

Last time I went to clean my K&N, I held it up to the sun. Pinpricks of light everywhere around the perimeter.

Threw it out, went back to paper

I agree with the above. K&N lets more dirt in and I don't want that in my engine. Cleaning it and oiling it is another thing I don't want to do.
