One of my propane tanks is making a whistleing sound when any gas appliance is used. What could be causing this? Other than the sound being annoying is there any danger in using it while traveling?

Yes, I've closed it and opened it again and still makes the noise. When I put my ear on the tank you can tell that it is definitely coming from the tank.

I had the same problem. I replaced the pigtail hoses and now all is quiet. It's a cheap fix, worth a shot.

Haven't tried swapping tanks, sounds like a good suggestion.

I have the same problem when the tank get down to the last 25% of gas in the tank.

From what I've read, this can be the internal tank safety valve or the regulator.

If it's the internal tank safety valve would this be dangerous to keep using it?
