It only shows up in your first post on a thread. After that the signature is not shown. Look at mine. The picture of my trailer is only on the first post after that it's deleted.
Well maybe not. It showed up in this one. Oh well who knows. Maybe it only shows up on each new page?

HappyTrails2U2 wrote: Here's the ad for a pair of BAL Deluxe scissor jacks on Amazon for $70.71 which is only $35.35 each and it comes to $141.42 for 4 of them and that's what I paid for them also. You might find some even cheaper but this was the cheapest I could find and I checked around for a couple of days. One of person's review on these jacks that bought them said he thought the price was a misprint so he checked to see and it was good. I also called just to make sure it was a pair and not a single jack. They also delivered them very fast. I also checked with the seller to make sure they were the heavy duty 7,000 lb jacks and they said the "deluze" are the 7,000 lb jacks.

Good luck
I bought 2 of these too and they work well. I have a 16" frame and I use these to lift the frame 1 - 3" to get level. I level the low side first and then use the other one to stabilize it. Got tired of boards and backing up and then being too low or too high and doing it all over again. Heck, they make the bigfoot system with jacks to lift the unit up so what is different about scissor jacks?

The sig does show up once per page.
These light, easily stackable jacks only cost about $40 at Walmart:

They work great if the screw is not extended. The minute the screw is extended much, it rocks back and forth enough to be as useless as most scizzor jacks. They do prevent bounce however. But much of the objectable movement is fore-aft and lateral. Correctly used, these jacks can prevent that.
My latest plan is to jack the frame center up with my hydraulic jack on one side and place a single above jack under the TT using a broad base support made of easily stored criss-crossed 2x2's and no screw. After lowering the first side on the above jack, I can place one more center support on the other side using the hydraulic jack itself. The broad base of both types jack should yield improved lateral support.
There is one other good reason to use jacks in the middle of a TT. Any lifting on the ends causes any frame, no matter how stout, to get slightly sway-backed. If anyone doesn't believe me, using a ladder at home, jack up the ends of your TT and eyeball down the gutters before-and-after. I imagine the amount of give will vary with particular TT's, but I'll bet it is easily visible on any unit.
If the bend is enough, say 3/8 inch, rain will certainly not run uphill off the ends of the shallow rain gutters, but rather spill over the center in a waterfall. Adding to the problem is the roof is also becomes lower in the center, causing rain to flow to the middle before it even reaches the gutters. This combination of increased flow encouraged our slide to leak.
My opinion:
I don't believe any TT frame will be normally damaged by jacking up the frame on the ends. The frame itself will just bend until it reaches a strain point and then bend back when released. The TT wall structure could be permanently be damaged though. I think they are all built resting on the axles. Jacking one end a foot or so in the air could bend some TT frames by as much as 6 inches or so. After a major amount of creaking, window caulk could tear, and internal framing joints could be broken. Jacking the ends 3 or 4 inches should not cause any damage, as the TT probably flexes this much during towing.

i just went and mesured my frame is 23" off the ground at rest so i think i am stuck with the 30" but i like the idea of maybe doing just 2 in front of the wheels as the back is much shorter. now it looks like i can get 2 30" 7500 for $104 deliverd. new problem i am going to have to relocate the gas line a 1/2 inch.

Let me guess. The gas line is attached/runs right under the frame on one side.
I had this problem. In my case I was able to make some solid steel spacer plates that allowed me to mount the jack where I wanted it, and the base plate just barely misses the gas line.
Perhaps something like that will work for you.

Amazing what one can learn from reading others posts. I was on the roof today and was looking at the awning molding (where the awning attaches to the roof line) and noticed it had a bow in it. The center was lower (closer to the ground) than either end (our is a 30 ft travel trailer).
Guess what I learned in this stabilizer thread?? - I have over jacked my stabilizers and have caused a bow. I will go out in the morning and check it out and reset the stabilizers. I hope I have not done any permanent damage..
Thanks for the conversation guys and at 3 months full time now, I am learning every day!!

Yep they work and I've used them for the past couple of years but I got tired of crawling underneath my trailer to put all 4 of them in place. That's why I went with the scissor jacks because they bolt on to the frame and all you have to do is use a cordless drill to extend them and retract them.
