I just run 4-5 lines about 3" off the ground in different directions just before dark.
If they trip over the lines -- so be it!
(just kidding) NO it's not right, but you can't fix stupid!

WOW! Not sure where some of you guys camp but some of the stories are a little unbeliveable. We have never had anyone walk in our site or be rude to us. NEVER! We do not walk in others sites and are not rude to others.

If someone did walk in our site, it just would not be that big of a deal.

Man where do you people camp…
This comes up from time to time and I am amazed at the response it gets…

No someone should not cross your site, but in over 40 years of camping I have had it happen maybe twice and can count one hand how many times I have even seen it happen…

If you rent or are assigned a site it is yours to use, but I doubt that automatically gives you absolute rights or even the same rights or legal standing as a home owner or home renter… the rules are established by the park owner and it is most likely a violation of the park rules…

First thing I thought of when I read the OP was they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. The fact that you stated, "Well in my mind, if they wanted to see the deer, they should reserve the proper sites as I did so they can do so without trespassing.", gives me that thought. Have you thought that it might be their first time there? How would they know where to put their camper to see the deer? Now don't get me wrong, I do find it rude for people to cut through sites. I find more fault on adults than I do kids, because the kids were not taught properly.

With that said, I would not call this "trespassing". Trespassing is normally referred to as a unlawful or criminal act. Trespassing normally relates to you owning the property, which you do not. I think you acted properly, by getting their attention. If it bothers you so much, either say somethign to them and become the cranky old guy in lot #43. Or watch to see which site they go back to and complain to the management. Lastly, I would not stay in an RV Park/campground where people may "toe the line" of your site.

K. I use an bull horn the next morning when the neighbor party is pass curfew the night before. Have a 1/2 breed pit that barks at trespassers trying to go thru campsite besides roping off our rented spot. Seems to work...

Many use the phrase reserve your site. No CG I go to allows reserving a certain site. It's first come first serve. You have a reservation to the point that a site will be available but you can't reserve your favorite site. If you pull in on Saturday morning you take what's left. If you want a popular site you show up on Thursday.

Many of the campgrounds I go to allow you to reserve a certain site.

Same here....only places I have been to that don't give you a certain site is KOA, Georgia State Parks and Lakewood in Myrtle Beach. They do guarantee a section though. And at KOA you do most of the time get a certain type of site. But everywhere else, COE, State (NC and FL), and all other commercial campgrounds we have been to.
