I currently have a 27 ft wolf pack and it is awesome. But to save money, and for something that tows better (I frequently tow 500 miles in one day to camp), I am thinking of selling it and getting an enclosed trailer. My wife requires a toilet and sink, a refrigerator. We would also have a heater installed and bring a queen bed strapped to the side.

I was curious if anyone else had a setup like this and if they were happy with the decision.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Is there room below the floor to install waste tanks? If there is not you will have to put the tank in the cabinet under the sink, and build a platform for the throne with the black tank under it. The heater, fresh water tank and water heater will go in cabinets well, the water is pressureized, so its location is more center of gravity then gravity feed. I would put the heater and water heater as far from the sleeping area as you can, no one likes to wake to the WOOSH of the heater lighting.

What the problem you're having towing the Wolf Pack? Might be a hitch/WDH issue.

I converted a 32' model. 16' garage and the rest living. It was ok for the DW and me only. The problem was as stated as above. We put the fresh water tank under the bed 85 Gal. The hard part was the black and grey. I found some long tanks that fit under the trailer between the frame and stringers. It did not hang down to low and worked fair. It was very limited on the design and I did have to raise the shower 4'' to get a trap or u bend. It was built nicer than or current raptor but had the race trailer look. When I do something different I will build a real toyhauler. 45' long with a real frame and running gear. Disk brakes. 16-20 Stacker in the toy area 3 AC's and 40' of awning. Basically fix all the design stuff that is not done. Be warned the cost to build it your self will be more in materials than if you bought one completed.

It just tows heavy, I have a WDH and it is setup properly. I travel through Montana at up to 7,500 feet on the interstate with a speed limit of 75. So going 65-70 gets me like 8mpg with my 2008 duramax. Another trip I take is through the Columbia river gorge which has frequent high winds. Last time that trip took 12 hours because I had to go 55mpg into a severe headwind and only got 6mpg at that speed. With a smaller vnose, I would get much better mpgs and the trip would go quicker. (On that trip I had to wait a half hour at the gas station to fill my truck where if I had a smaller trailer I could have used the regular pump rather than the rv pump)

Anyways, ya I would keep the toilet up front in the vnose and the need in the back. We just are never in the trailer while camping. We have a nice tv and stereo that are unused. The microwave, stove, and a/c are unused, the inside shower is unused, the outside shower a couple times. The toilet only gets used by my wife.

So that is more information. Lol

for holding tanks, there are places to buy pre-made tanks, places that make custom tanks

Pre-made tanks

custom made tanks

There are more out there, these were the first ones I found.

Ya that is a lot more extensive than I was thinking! Lol I found a trailer place where the trailer is 5,299 new for a 20 for box, 4 ft vnose. They add a bathroom kit for 1,500 and an additional 750 with shower. This includes all the tanks and work. I want to add an awning and cabinets too.

I can't really find one used. I have looked here in Spokane and the Seattle area. I saw one kind of close for 9,000, but it wasn't really what I wanted.

Thanks for the responses!

You can eliminate the black tank and plumbing for the toilet issue by going with a self-contained cassette toilet. They have their own portable waste tank built-in. The small tank removes for dumping from the outside, via a compartment door you cut into the outside wall of the trailer behind where you mount the toilet. The toilet has it's own fresh water flushing tank built in too. Thetford makes them, as do other brands.

Thanks for the info! My wife refuses to use a porta potty style toilet, she doesn't want to clean the mess. So she said we need tanks. LOL If I do this, I have to make her happy as she likes the creature comforts of our current toy hauler.

Keeping the wife happy is an absolute necessity.
