I'm in the process of getting some stick on vinyl flooring for my camper project from Amazon, they have some great deals on flooring if you don't mind waiting a couple of days. Hopefully this will do the trick! I got 20 square feet for 20 bucks after shipping.

I did the vinyl floor and then cut a piece of carpet to fit in. This way I have a choice. Has been useful a couple of times, a water leak soaked the carpet so pulled it and let it dry, another time we went to a beach so left the carpet at home - easy clean up.

Thanks for the ideas.
I'm still a couple weeks away from getting to that point so I've got time to explore options.

Make sure to think about the thickness. One of the reasons I think it is an issue is my counter extension is cocked and won't go flush against the cabinet which leads me to believe the flooring is thicker than the original. Where my slideouts go in and out you can see where it has rubbed the floors. It still looks good overall for an used coach but I want to tear it out and see if what I think is water damage actually is. So just keep that in mind when you select your flooring I know I will.
I am interested in how well you do with this as my coach I bought a few weeks ago has some underfloor issues and it looks like they installed real hard wood, but I think that is where the extra thickness is coming from. I know laminate and stuff is/can be thinner. Plus whoever did the remodel probably didn't consider it themselves till after the fact if they ever even noticed it.

I wouldnt use carpet, once dirty its hard to get it looking fresh again. Plus it would hold dog and other oders. I've seen a vynel product in Home Depot called (I think) Alure. It looks like it floats and sticks together not to the floor. I checked the samples on display, its very durable. What i saw was a good looking wood imatation. That would be my route, if I wanted a soft spot for the dog, I'de use either an area carpet or bed, but it would need to be able to be washed.
Just my 2 cents.
Im in Depot in 45 minutes, I'll look again for brand etc. if anyones interested.

I had to recover floor due to some soft spots. I cut out the exact floor plan with a sheet of 3/4" plywood then used the faux tile with thte sticky backs. Then I trimmed it with a durable poly rope held in by brads and glue.

Hi AISURFFISH,
I was wondering how the stick on vinyl worked out, I am in the process of using this in my camper and with four kid I'm hoping it holds up pretty good?
Thanks, Josh

Hey nycsteve,
The Allure brand has two types of flooring. The first type they came out with is the one you are talking about. It is a floating floor, but sticks together with a peel-back tape. It works alright, but not as well in the high traffic, and/or high moisture areas. the glue can let loose, and then the pieces separate.
The second type they came out with is what I mentioned earlier. It goes together like laminate flooring. It is still a floating floor. But does not work loose like the sticky/glue type. The military has approved it in their housing, as it is very durable, and takes much less time to remove and install when replacement is needed. You can even undo it back to a damaged piece, and just replace one piece, and then put it all back down. I bought a box to do my camper, just havn't made the time to install it.
I hope this helps,
