I always say. I have a 27' trailer, with a 24' camper on it. And ALWAYS use the total length when making reservations. You don't want to dhow up and try to put a 27' trailer on a 24' site.

Actually I usually exaggerate the length...he he

Had to do it, I know some were thinking it...

I usually refer to my trailer as 32' even though the total length is 32.2"...interestingly my model number is 32 RBK-DS, I guess Evergreen names their models in reference to their total length. All manufacturers are definitely different.

Our 2013 Keystone Bullet Premier 19FBPR is supposed to be 19 foot 6 inches and OAL is 23 foot 4 inches according to the information provided in the owners manual. Empty weight is 4168.

During our last trip out, we were neighbors with an Outback that the owner said was a 27RLS (not sure on the letters). He said the OAL was 34. Compared to ours, his seemed very long.

My model number is 722F. It's 7.5 feet wide and it's 22 feet from bumper to hitch. (the actual camper part is 19 feet). I figure the "F" stands for "Front Queen Bed", which it has..

Trailer model numbers are like gun calibers, they're all over the map with no consistant rhyme or reason. I tend to refer to the overall length because that is the part we are actually dealing with when dragging the thing all over the place. That is the measurement you'll need when deciding site size most of the time.

If it helps my trailer has a model number of 32B the living area is listed as 32'. the actual living area is 31' and the overall length is 34'10"! hope this confuses you even more!!!

As far as weights go.....I always recomend adding approx. 1200lbs to the dry weight! no reason to go by the GVWR on a trailer with a 4000lb CCC, you will never put 4000lbs into a trailer unless it is a Toy Hauler.

A big theme I've seen is folks buying trailers based on max tow limits of vehicles and dry weights of trailers, which is a recipe for disaster.

Yes! Examine the payload of your TV carefully (tounge weight, passengers and cargo eating that up fast), and look at the GVWR of the TT instead of the dry weight.
Having a 1/2 ton truck, we'd have been way over not on payload, as our truck has a high rating on that, but the weight of the TT would have been disastrous had we not been reading here. I can't tell you once we said our TV is rated to tow 8,000 lbs - how many dealers continued to show us trailers just right under or AT that DRY WEIGHT - and saying oh yeah, you'll have no problem with that one!! Super yikes!!
