I have a 5th wheel. Getting ready to start to use it and was talking to a neighbor. He showed me this very structured piece of paper which shows starting mileage and he had every location wrote down with Mileage driven.

Does anyone know of a log I can use, his was pretty cool but I can't believe there isnt a good format online

Bought "RV Companion" for IPAD ! Cheap under $5.00 I think.. Has lots of useful tools for camping prep, maintenance etc. Very simple to use ! Think it works on other devices.

We've had several bound trip logs and I'll look for our current one in the morning but I pretty much follow the log layout on the Journey of Discovery by Lewis and Clark. Date, time, milage at start and end of day, weather, temp, start location, end location, things we did, what we saw. I don't keep track of much and never add it all up. I don't care what it cost and where my money went. I'm traveling and it costs what it costs. If were running out of money the DW says so and we head home. I'm anal about some things but never ever would keep a running log of costs on a trip.

Okay, here is the info I promised last night. The bound journal we used on our last extended trip(ten weeks/13K miles) was the Road Trip Journal from Journals Unlimited, Inc., Write It Down Series with over 60 titles. It is not perfect for everyone but I like bound journals better than a CD sitting on a shelf. Excel is handy and as I have been told, easy to use but is very sterile and impersonal. A hand written journal is not and is a lot more fun for us to review and our family really enjoys excerpts we send out, where a computer printer spread sheet ...
