Two weeks ago our fire alarm began beeping intermittently - chirp long wait, chirp. We changed out the battery and all was well. Now leaving this weekend and chirping again. If I replace it, do I need a specific RV fire alarm or do they have these in Loews or Home Deposit?

Fire alarms have a life expectancy yours may be up I have seen that in my house before. The "detector" starts to wear out giving false positives to the circuit board causing it to chirp.
I believe if you ask a fire department or read the Kidde fire alarm boxes they say 5-7 years.

Some companies recommend cleaning smoke detectors when you change out the batteries. Check the owners manual for that type of detector.

Hi,
Two types of fire detectors, the kind you want and the kind that will go off if anything is cooked inside the RV, the photoelectric kind.
You want a basic fire smoke detector. They sell for about $9 - 15. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, ect.
If you where to install a photoelectric type detector, not only are they more expensive, but also very sensitive to smoke, so any cooking toast would trip it, so would lighting the oven (maybe even without cooking anything).
I bought one of the more deluxe models, with a light and a all important to me "Hush" button.

Already changed out the battery....was it a new battery or one you had laying around?
If new battery.....replace the smoke detector.
ACE/Lowes/Home Depot etc.....regular battery operated smoke detector

Smoke detectors have a ten year then replace it should be a date somewhere on it. Also CO2 detectors should be replaced every 5 years according to my FD. As for type I'm not sure for rv's but I'm looking to replace mine soon.

The Hush button is just a temporary shutdown and not a off switch, is it not ?

Look at the LED on the front of it. Green is good, red means it's alarming and yellow/orn means it needs to be replaced.
