Drive a 2006 Ram 3500 Backup lights inop. Have searched for the fuse, can't find it. Fuse center has no position labeled for back up lights. Anyone been through this before?

Is that integrated into the entire tail light / brake light fuse?

Thanks NewsW. All lights and everything else works. Just those backup lights.
The switch is in the auto trans case, I am not going in there looking.

Hmmm

Just on a lark try this.

Disconnect the batteries.

Short the leads together, turn headlight on.

Lets reset the computers and see if that clears the problem.

Sometimes,... it just works.

Thanks to the latest and greatest technology our fuse boxes are now computers and a lot of the circuits are protected by positive temperature coefficient (PTC) resistors which increase in resistance as the circuit heats up from excessive amperage.
This is nice because you don't have to replace the fuse, but its a real pain if your trying to find a short.
The other problem that you may be running across is this, if the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) sees a problem with the reverse light circuit it will set a trouble code and shut down the circuit.
You can try disconnecting both of your batteries for a few minutes if you have already repaired the reverse lights this may reset the TIPM. You may want to have the vehicle scanned at a dealer as it could be a couple of different issues, the TIPM, wiring or a transmission range switch.

If this is the problem it is usually related to a problem with the trailer wiring. Did it start it when you hooked up your RV?
TIPM's are expensive since it's basicly only a dealer fix, about $500 or so. Usually when one fails it will knock out many circuity items that are not safety related. In other words the pleasure features like windows, A/C etc.
I haven't read certain posts but disconnecting the batteries for a period of time would be where I would start. Without the RV plugged in. If that works great your problem is trailer related. If not sorry that TIPM is most likely fried.
Good Luck

Disconnecting and shorting battery leads will do nothing. Your TIPM has shut the lights down (you have a short) and must be reset by a dealer. It can be reset up to 3 times before it has to be replaced ($450~900 depending on dealer). If the dealer doesn't even look at it and says the TIPM has to be replaced, go someplace else because he's a crook. There is also a SW update to increase the current limit to 20 amps.
First thing to do is find the short that caused the problem.

If it was caused by a electronic fault like a latch up or corrupted memory, it can be fixed by a reboot.

Always do a reboot to ensure it is not something simple before presuming that it is an actual fault.

Power off cold reboot also forces a recalibration routine on many sensors and actuators.
