Shoot, that's as valid as any other opinion and sort of makes sense. I drove the highway quite a bit in years gone by (20 odd trips) and still remember two things related to paving:
1) When the road from Dawson Creek to AK was gravel, the bulk of it (around Kluane has always been rough) was smoother than the paved roads in Alaska (at least to Fbks/Big Delta)
2) It seem sacreligious to understand (in the recent past) that most of the road is nicely paved.
