Folks I have a new trailer (gel-coat finish) so I have been trying to learn the best soap and wax and rags to use. I have been trying several different waxes that have recommended on this forum and the wax I like the best is Meguiars tech 2. My question is is it safe to use on my gel-coat finish. The box and the web site only says paints, does not say anything about other finishes. I would guess the best wax for fiberglass is there marine wax, but I can not find any around here locally

Please no one tell me to try Nu Finish, I tried it and hated it.

It was used on my trailer a few weeks ago but I've just traveled 1700 miles and the front is covered with bugs. It sure looked good when it was put on and I intend to use it again once we get back home. I've used gel coat etc on the 5er and haven't really been satisfied with any of them. We'll see once I get it washed up again. I used awsome on the front before the Tech 2 was put on. Good luck.

I really like the Tech 2. It goes on and off easily, looks good, and lasts longer than most other products I have tried. Smells good too! I do use Rejex on the front and rear caps...makes bug removal very easy!

Why don't you trust the label? If it says for paint then its for paint. (assuming you don't have full body paint).

Get the right wax for fiberglass. Flagship The wrong wax has a chronic affect on the gelcoat and you can accelerate oxidization over time. As I understand it seals over the gelcoat which is the what you don't want to do, as it will oxidize underneath the wax.

I like Meguires car polish for my TV,but for the fiver I use Meguires boat products.I agree with Mile High paint products for paint.You will need to do a little hunting for the boat products,as they are not usually available at the local auto parts store.I would guess that most marine supply stores have them.
Also a check of Meguiers website will provide a ton of information.

Farmer David I use Meguires for years and love thier wax and polish. I would just ask the company about it and you can also order just order thier products online. And Howdy nieghbor!!
