If your talking about the yellow one at CW save your money. I'll send you mine which doesn't work with a Mor/ryde suspension.

Bottle jack under or very near springs pak works for me.

I bought one of the heavy duty ramps. I have needed it twice while along side the road. In both instances I was back on the road in 20 mins. Best $79.00 I ever spent, no wasting hours of my time waiting on road service. However, I have a travel trailer not 5 er not sure what the weight capacity is.

I am not about to wait 1 or 2 hours for service. I have always jacked from as near to the springs as I can get with my bottle jack, never a problem.

Read your uners manual. It probably says jack under the frame. I tried using the part that attaches the axle assembly and bent it. The axles will also bend and the boneheads that say to use the axle wont pay for the damage.

Ahh - that was my next question - what about the Mor-Ryde. Thanks Rick, you saved me a trip and some money.

When changing a flat tire on a 5vr is it alright to place the hydraulic jack & lift by the axle attached to the leaf spring assembly ? I have read that if so it might bend the axle. Is this true or should I buy the right ton bottle jack and lift by the frame ? What to the majority of you do ? Thanks for all the help on here....you are a bunch of wonderful people with endless knowledge !!!

"We" (the posters, here) will *not* pay for a damaged or bent axle!.

Their (our) method may work just fine - but you might "apply" it incorrectly.

Sooo - (IMO) follow the recommendations of the axle and trailer mfgr (owner's manual)..

If you don't have the above, call the mfgr's tech line/s - they will be happy to help!.

BTW - most axle & trlr mfgr's recommend jacking under the frame.
YMMV.

The plastic ramp works great!

Do a test rum before you hit the road. I have the Trail Air Equaflex suspension and the first time I tried the tire next to it that I wanted to repair stayed on the ground. So I tried again with a 2x under the ramp and it worked great. 45Ricochet if you add a little dunnage under your ramp it will probably work like mine.

Some will have a fit about all that weight on one axle, I say bunk! What about when you have one tire go onto a curb and the other tire hangs there? It is called common sense.

45Ricocht you can send me your ramp!

As posted.....mfg's recommend jacking under the frame and not axles.

As posted frames are soft so use a block between frame and top of jack.

As posted axles can be bent if used as a jacking point.

AND WITH ALL THAT SAID:

My frames are high......so I would need several blocks just to get my jack high enough to reach frame. Don't care for that idea.

Axles can be bent BUT I'm not going to try and jack wheel up using the middle of axle tube.

I place my 6-ton bottle jack under the spring perch.......same place that the weight of trailer is supported from.
Jack the wheel up just high enough to R&R.

Wheel ramp will work also.....but like posted above you may need additional block to get wheel high enough depending on type of equalizer/center support.

I have used the spring perch area at the axle with no problems, you do not want to jack up under the middle of the axle.

I carry 3 2x8 boards 2'6"inches long for level up. Lay all 3 on ground and stagger the ends to make a ramp pull or back good tire up on. May have to put jack on axel and lift more, but very little weight, works fine and didnt cost $79.95 or whatever. Broke a spring in LA. and went to spring shop.He jacked tt by back courner about 2' off ground didnt hurt a thing.TT was a 34' 97 holiday rambler.Almost had the big one ethel. Mike
