seems ths section is best.
what do you all like for a campground guide for places to
camp? we like national forests and also like to find less
expensive places. we have (like now) stayed at private
places though. we are currently in Washington and will be
heading back to Florida for winter. we are in a 27 ft travel trailer.
thanks

If you like National Forest Camping, you need to go here:
http://www.forestcamping.com/

Fred and Suzie Dow have visited every NF Campground in the US and have an online guide which lists everything.

I start with a google search for campgrounds in the area I want to stay. then do a google search for reviews on the campground. we find reparkreviews.com reliable for reviews about parks. I also search out the tourism websites for the area we will be visiting, some list the local campgrounds, so don't.

I used to use Woodall's, until I was in Biloxi (Majestic Oaks) a few years ago and camped next to a very nice couple both of whom worked for Woodall's. He was a "Park Inspector" and she sold advertising. I thought it could not have been a bigger conflict of interest so I stopped reading it. Then I started reading "Big Rig Resorts", but found they, too, had many incorrect entries, and were very defensive when those were pointed out to them. I now use rvparkreviews.com and have never been disappointed.
