I have the Dometic Duo Therm low-profile air cond's, one of which is leaking into the cabin in wet weather. The water is coming in ABOVE the roof gasket which has, in any case, been replaced since it was the first suspect. The water is not coming from the condensate tray. The leak occurs when it's raining, not when the AC is running. Nonetheless, the drains have been checked and they are clear. The a/c cover is intact and has no obvious source of a leak.

Any ideas?

unless there is a leak someplace else and the water is just coming out at the A/C or the gasket was put in wrong,IE too tight. as far as I can tell these are your only two options

There must be a third option unless water is now flowing uphill!

The water comes in above the gasket and appears on the flange (bottom plate of the a/c) that sits on top of the gasket...so it's not a gasket issue and it's not coming from someplace else on the roof because it appears above the roof (from above the gasket that sits on the roof) then runs down the long bolts to the lower bracket and into the coach.

Any more ideas?

In that case I would remove the cover and make sure the drain holes are not plugged up with debris.

Are you sure the gasket was install correctly....not twisted, misaligned, pinched, over tightened?

Or by some chance is there a hole or crack in the immediate area of the vent hole in a place where the gasket would not seal?

Hows about a leak somewhere else in the roof? A water leak can be hard to find. Water can leak inside a roof at one place, and run under the skin several feet before finding the weak spot in the ceiling and leaking in the cabin.

Since they sell roof sealer for nearly every kind of RV roof material (even rubber roofs). I would buy some, coat the roof as directed on the label. What the heck, go ahead and check that A/C gasket again while you are at it. (You know just because that sponge gasket is new dont mean it didnt sit on the shelf till it dry rotted--I mean it could be bad).

Good Luck Buddy.

My thanks for all your input.

It ain't the gasket or the roof. The a/c is essentially suspended above the roof by the gasket and the water is coming in somehow through the a/c above the gasket. I think that this is an a/c problem, not a roof problem.

There is sort of a "bulkhead" internal to the a/c that separates the rearmost part that is essentially open to the outside and the front part that if you remove the internal grill/filter is open to the inside. Somehow the water seems to be migrating from rear to front or perhaps directly into the front...though I don't see how since the cover is intact and apparently leak free.

I'm wondering if you ever found the answer to your problem?

We also have the Duo Therm low profile a/c on our Monaco.

Ours has a double gasket and we're also getting a leak that we can't find

No, I haven't found the answer yet. In my case, the leak is above the gasket, so that isn't the problem.

In your case, does it leak when it's running, or when it's raining?
