Last night our entire 12V system died on us. So that means no air, no lights until I figure it out. Myself and a couple of the guys in the cg could'nt find the problem. They seem to think it's a bad converter. We checked all the fuses but nothing blown.
So before I have to call someone on Sunday, maybe someone could give me some things to try first.

Check you house batteries to see if they are holding a charge by starting the engine. If your 12 volt comes back up with the engine running then it's your converter. You my have to hit your emergency start switch after you have the engine running if the house batteries are to low. If the batteries won't charge than they have a short in one or more cells.

I recently had the same problem and it ended up being the batteries that feed the converter. I had some other signs prior to, such as dim lights from time to time, low voltage on other items, etc. I have both a converter for my house 12V (2 batteries) and an inverter (4 batteries) for my 120V use. One 12 V battery was totally dead and the other was almost. Have you checked the output of your converter with a volt meter? Also on my coach, there is a mini breaker in an outside compartment for the converter. Just a couple of ideas worth checking.

I should also ask. If the converter is bad, will that cut off 12v to the whole rig?

No only the 12V stuff supplied by coach batterys. The chassis batterys and associated stuff are not effected

When mine went out a year ago it was the solenoid that was bad ( on the HR it was located in the fuse box area outside ) it can be bypassed temporarily. You might check into that.
Oh ya someone mentioned a fuse, there also is a fuse that plugs into the solenoid.

Hi,
There is often either a fuse or automatic circuit breaker quite close to the battery bank. Follow the positive wire and see if it goes to one.
Do you have a voltmeter and do you know how to use it?
