My question is should I have a concern for a unit that has not been used for 3-4 years? It was purchased in 06 and used for a couple of trips to Florida and back or 6000 miles. It's a Brake Buddy Vantage model. Any info would be appreciated.

We have a BB. Wouldn't be afraid to use it, if it is all set up and test button/pressure, brake clevice all work fine. Might want to try it out for a couple of miles with hard enough braking to activate it before leaving out on a trip.

Put it on the passenger side floor of your tow vehicle and plug it in. Take a drive and watch it as youu drive and brake. Plug in the brake indicator light so you can see if it works also. This is what BB told me to do. You can also call them. Just look up the number on their web site. Seems like the BB activates sooner this way than it does while actually installed. This is normal.
