I rinse my sewer hose off, I spray the whole area down with the non potable water not only in case a few splashes of my black/gray water may have hit the ground but also to clean the area from whoever used the dump before me! Some people dont think before they speak(write)!

OP said he left an "unsanitary puddle." I assumed that meant that when his rig was all nice and clean, that the dump site was not quite so clean. Instead of making the effort to finish hosing down the area he just took off. Maybe he was just lazy, or not so bright, or maybe both.

I for one do not expect a dump area to be disinfected, but also do not expect to be walking in poo either. Just rinsed down is fine.

Interesting perspectives, so why not put in my perspective too.
I appreciate the people who will hose down a mess if they create one. But I personally don't like to use a dump that has wet asphalt or concrete. In my mind the good old sun baked concrete is more sanitary for me to walk on and track into my vehicle than having wet soles from walking across wet concrete.
So if you spill and there is something visibly disagreeable then by all means hose it down. But your hose just dribbles a bit as you put it away, then please just leave the little puddle alone. I would much rather just have to step over or around a little puddle that I can see than have to walk and stand on wet ground that I can't avoid.

Watch the Sapranos the HBO series and listen to one of the mobsters (can't remember who) talk about shoe laces and the floors of the bathrooms. You'll like my pine scented dump zone LOL

After reading all of the replies, I still do not understand what the "unsanitary problem" was? OO Buck said his wife told him to stand down-
from discussing the problem with the person creating the "unsanitary problem", for future dumps, if the dump sight is unsanitary, move on to the next one or let your wife do the dump process.

You're not done until the area is clean of any dirty, brown, poopy water, regardless of the condition in which you found it. I try to leave the area clean, the way I would like to find it. JMHO

I have been to a quite a few dump stations that have signs posted that request you wash/rinse off the area when you are done.
I have also been at ones that are more dirt/gravel then concrete, and there has been a puddle that one has to maneuver around and it can be somewhat annoying.
I have been at dump stations that have been a mess. I was in line once when the person in front of me had there hose disconnect during the dumping process. They were inexperienced RVers....accidents happen. They were very upset and asked me what they should do. I said get the hose and dilute and wash the mess up as best you can and get on with your life. Hey, its bio-degradable. Believe me...there are worse things that can happen in ones life!

Smart wife. Anyone with the lack of sense and respect to ruin it for others, even while being watched, may not have the restraint to not create a situation.
Happy Trails.
