Starting my trip to Alaska in one week
Question. For a two night stay in the Hyder/Stewart area, where do you experienced travellers reccomend?
Oh by the way, want at least electric and water.
Thanks

We like several spots.
It depends on what kind of camping set up you have and if you hook ups.
We have stayed at the the 3 listed below and enjoyed our experience in all of them.
Meziadin Lake
Camp Run A Muck
Rainey Creek Municipal Campground
Happy camping!

Meziadin Lake Provincial Park is gorgeous park close to the junction of 37 and 37A. Using it as a base Stewart/Hyder is a comfortable day trip - and - from my own point view you don't need more than one day. The park does not have full hook-ups but does have electrical sites. Web page is:

We stayed in Stewart, BC at Bear River Trailer Court. A nice place for a few days.

We liked Camp Run A Muck. Be sure to go up and view Salmon Glacier. We went at the wrong time and did not get to see all the bears in the river. Have to do that around the 1st week in August when the salmon are running.

You must've got the grumpy one. The last fellow I met there had a wicked sense of humour. He was more interested in how many bears we'd seen and whether or not we'd ventured up to the glacier.

I got the chunky college girl---all business. Where are you coming from----duh. Why are you here?? Where are you staying. Oh--where is your trailer? How much cash is in your trailer? Are you alone?
Lets see cash, alone--no--no no.
Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.
