That is what it sounds like to me too. Maybe a pan of water would catch the falling ones to keep it cleaner on the floor.

Bob, if you had been swilling down borax & sugar water for the last five days you would have trouble walking let alone hanging on the ceiling. :-)

I've used a product called Orange Guard (http://www.orangeguard.com/) and it not only kills them but keeps the ants from coming back. Works immediately and keeps on working. It's a bit oily, but I'd rather have that than ants!

Another update..... Sigh........
gads maybe I should just set fire to this thing....
2 days ago they came back with a vengeance. they were everywhere, falling out of the fan bezel, onto the toilet, on the floor, into my tub. Many many dozens of them. Arrrgh! Get out of my life!!!!!
But I noticed for the most part they were acting strange. The ones that fell in the tub would find a blob of water and die there, the ones on the floor moved slowly. I picked them up and dropped them into the tub where they just laid there.
Yesterday same story, I'm ready to set fire to this bloody thing.
I got up today and looked. Hmmm one ant.
Squash!
Around noon a couple more. Later on a few more but the numbers are greatly reduced. They seem "out of it" I did some reading and it appears that they are suffering from being poisoned.
GOOD!
Today I got up and hmmmmmmm I don't see anything.
A while later, a couple stragglers. Later today I got maybe a total of a dozen, most of which wound up in the tub and just laid there in the standing water puddles.
Maybe I am getting somewhere.
I have noticed some young ones scurrying around, likely a fresh hatch from about the time I poisoned them. Now I wonder if the young 'uns are clean or have the residual poison in them.....
Found one in my bed this morning after I got up - Ick! It was dead. I had beans last night, maybe it .... oh well I won't say but it was dead.
Most of them I pick up and toss into the tub where they sit and do nothing until I turn on the shower and flush them away.
I will be really glad when this ordeal is over. Or I get a new TT!!

No I haven't opened the bezel yet. 3 days ago they came back with a vengeance. 2 days ago was about the same. Yesterday I killed only a few and saw very little activity. They were not going near the bait except for about half a dozen that either crawled right into it or fell from the ceiling into it and died there.
Quite a few fell into the tub and died in little bits of standing water. They had to crawl into he water so I'm thinking they have consumed some bait.
Today there is no sign of them including the ones I saw crawling around inside the light globes.
I'm leaving here this afternoon to go home for tomorrow. It's my wifes birthday. I'm coming back Tuesday morning so I'll how the situation looks then.
Hopefully they will be all dead.
