Just got home with our new toter. Drives great and plenty of room for all the kids. Now to find a good home for the old rig.

Love the truck. Why a tandem class 8 hdt though? Thinking a mdt would be more maneuverable and possibly cheaper to run. Just wondering, that's all.

Most drop the divider axle after it is purchased as it isn't really needed for our use. With the Volvo's set back front axle, it will likely turn tighter than any MDT.
The MDT's are usually more to buy up front than HDT's and are stressed to pull big loads. My feeling has always been why buy a MDT with a light trucks drive train, stiff suspension, and marginally bigger brakes when you can have it all and more for less $$$$?

Thanks for the comps. New one will be singled next week. No need for all that extra weight. The old truck runs and drives great. Pulls our 19K 5th wheel up and down all the Colorado passes with ease. Have had it for 10 years and wanted one newer with a little nicer interior and an auto shift. Like crazy says a MDT is twice the money with half the drive train.
