Do you keep water in your fresh water tank between trips? If so how long?
Thanks,
Mick

After I springerized, which included sanitizing my fresh water system, I filled my tank to about one half and it's ready to go. There is a little chlorine in my city water so I don't worry about it for a couple of months.

Here in SoCal Orange County we don't have freezing weather, I leave water in the tanks year round, draining, sanitizing and refilling every 4 months.

I use as sanitizers Bleach (Chlorine taste)...and also have used Hydrogen Peroxide (Food Grade) 6% solution (no bad taste).

I use the RV fairly frequently for camp'n...but when parked in my driveway it's our emergency shelter too, full of food, water and medical supplies in case of Earthquakes, Zombie Attacks and the End of the World. As we know it!

We also use a 3 stage PUR Faucet mounted water filter in the RV kitchen, removes bad stuff, chemicals, bacteria and taste/odors.

I will keep water in it for up to two weeks before draining and refilling. We do this in case of earthquake.
We always drink from this tank but I sanitize at the beginning of the season. We have never become ill from it use.

Me too. The RV is a life boat in case I have to abandon the house. Done that twice now. I use the RV year round so the water gets refreshed. Chlorinated city water keeps a long time (months) depending on environment.

If you have any questions about storing fresh water for extended periods, look for emergency preparedness type web sites (like Red Cross) on the interwebs..

Jeez. Forgot about the zombie attack thing. Need to prep for that now too.
