Our 30'DP is relatively stable in the wind, however there is a time to just get off the road.

As someone who had a home in Las Vegas for a number of years, gusting winds around Vegas have almost blown me off the road several times.

We installed Air Tabs which helped, and towing a car also helps to keep the tail from wagging the dog.

Find a coach with heavily radiused corners, that helps.

I have yet to find wind I was uncomfortable driving in, although getting hit by a microburst was opening the window awnings, but other than that we were fine.

There are many things that will effect handling. Do you have leaf springs? Do you have track bars? Trac bars often make a very significant difference in handling. It has also been stated that Air Tabs help as well.

The current issue of MotorhomeMagazine has an article on improving handling on chassis. You probably have a Ford and they can use a little help.

We have a heavy DP with a tag axel and it is very stable in even strong winds. That does not mean it is as easy to drive as when the winds are calm, but it is not scary at all.

I had a 31' gas MH and it blew across 2 lanes in a strong wind gust. I drive my DP in winds up to 45 MPH gusts and above that I shut down. Never has it changed lanes by a gust!!!
