I guess the other thing is that this system is supposed to "minimize" the amount of water that drains onto the roof. My experience thus far is that it works so well that it has minimized that effect to zero. So, while technically the system can or could drain out onto the roof, it hasn't done it yet.

Huntindog - The Carrier idea works perfectly, as advertised, except for the one instance, which was sort of the perfect storm.

The weather was very hot and very humid, we had been on the road for about 10 hours so the trailer was like an oven, and the filters were dirty (we normally clean them every two weeks or so, but when we had pulled out on the road we still had some of last seasons dust in them) and I set the unit on max cool and high fan.

So just for that one hour for one day the system was overworked.

I followed their trouble shooting tips and the problem went away immediately thereafter. It has never happened again in the past four years.

If Carrier was still making RV AC units I would not hesitate to buy one.

No drain - No problem

So in most cases this system will not get the roof wet. May I point out here that the roof is designed to get wet.

But in rare occasions when the AC is operating under demanding conditions,,,it may drain water inside, and wet the bed, or something that is NOT designed to get wet.

No thanks.

Huntindog - I do see your point and I don't disagree with you. But I got what I got.
