You dont need to chock the wheels unless you are parked on a slope.

I don't do anything special to remember. I just remember. Always. Just like setting the parking brake in the truck. Some things you just have to take seriously enough that forgetting is not possible.
Saying "I just remember" is dangerous arrogance in my opinion. People forget all the time. I have a list on our IPAD and we follow it. I have met many "smart guys" who forget things. I leave little to chance. Walk around every time we move the Fiver! It's not just my family it's everyone around me I worry about.

Each family member is assigned a short list of tasks when we set-up. We've all done it so many times it's old hat for all of us. For example, my oldest boy does the chocks and the jacks. He loves doing it, I help him out, and since there are two of us that check the work, the likelihood of forgetting is very low.

Actually you don't. You can use an air compressor to inflate your brakes once you arrive. I however have found chocks to be an easier solution

If you leave the brake clip out long enough it will fry/burn the wires to the brakes. Don't ask me how I know!

Find yourself an old label maker. Make one that says "Chocks" and put it right next to the button you use to lower the legs. Or get it into your head that chocks go down before the trailer legs. I'm also a -1 for the emergency break method. Bad advice all around.

Way off topic, but I worked in the petrochem industry long enough to see the transition from no automation to fully computerized. The old boys could judge a still's temperature by how long their spit sizzled on it. Full automation made the plants run a lot better but when the computer went down, nobody could remember what to do.
