I am considering buying Sumitomos tires for my 2004 38 foot Monoco. Have 7 year old Michleins with sidewall cracking clearly time to change.
The Sumitomos are over $200 less per tire installed than the Michelins. I am aware they are an Asian tire and am pretty sure tread wise I can not wear them out in 6 years.
I would think they are fine.
However we tow an enclosed car hauler trailer and the trailer with everything groses at 8000 to 9000 lbs about half the time we use the coach.
I have the e-z lift tow arms and sway bar as well.
Does anyone have experience with these tires????

I have Sumitomo tires, they are 4 years old with 30,000 miles on them, no problems with these tires.

I would have no problem running Sumitomo tires on my coach. Michelin will never grace my coach when there is a $1200+ difference in cost and the quality is basically the same.

Had a set on my car and was very happy with them. Right price, and got a lot of miles out of them. Never have had much luck with Michelins, fwiw.

I've been running them for over two years and have about 6K on them and love them. Great tire.

Put Sumitomos on my last coach...they are basically DUNLOP, as Sumitomo has owned Dunlop for close to 20 years.........They are an excellent tire, reasonably priced......

I have a set of 12 year old Sumitomos on one of our cars that we don't drive a lot and they still look like new. I would definitely buy them again.

I bought a new set of Michelin tires (I wanted the "best")for our former motor home to replace a set of ten year old Goodyears that were on it when we bought it. The Goodyears still looked good with no cracking after ten years. The Michelins had sidewall cracks in 2 years, even though I protected them.

When we got our current motor home a few months ago it had a set of original Goodyears on it too that had no sidewall cracks and still looked good. I replaced those with Bridgestones. I'll never buy Michelins again.

In August 2009, I installed Sumitomo 727 tires in the 275/70R22.5 size. Very pleased with them so far. Would buy again.

My 22.5 Sumotomos are 8 years old and still looking good. Am looking at getting another year out of them, but keeping a close eye on them.

I put ST 778 295/75/22.5 on 2 years ago and have about 12000 miles on them with no problems whatsoever. I would buy them again. They replaced Michelins which were original. Price was the determining factor as Michelins were significantly higher.
