That seems to work every time it's tried.
My Dad ran into the same thing with his Allegro; it was an '05 on an '06 chassis. Same deal as the OP - no one could tell him. I did the F-550 V10 trick and sure enough, same filter.
There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

There are 2 different filters for the 2011 F550. Napa crossed me to one pleated that was not same size, the other was a totally different filter, that is when I gave up and called winnebago.
You can look up any Ford part using the FordParts.com website. Simply enter your VIN and search by the name of the part. Or you can navigate the site to the correct section and even view an illustration of the parts. Good luck.

That site does work (thanks for the link), however I did not have my filter or VIN on me that day so I still had to make at least one call to Winnebago.
