Our Fantastic Fan opens fine; the blades turn and lid opens. But, the lid does not close automatically. I have to close it manually. The rain sensor doesn't work anymore. Perhaps it's related to the lid not closing automatically. Are these common problems?

Contact the company directly, they have superb customer service even for products that are out of warranty. They will send you the parts for free and will only charge a nominal amount for shipping. Most parts can easily be installed from the inside of the RV.

This has been my experience also. The 11 year old lifting mechanism failed last year and had to be replaced. No charge. : )

After contacting the company, please post as to how (and if) they helped you out.

Fantastic Fan has had a great reputation for outstanding customer service. They were bought be another big company recently (Atwood) and I am curious to see if Atwood responds the same way.

3 years ago they sent all new parts for my fan, no charge to Canada, Great people to deal with at that time. Will be interested to see if it is still the same service?

My understanding is that since they were bought by Atwood they are charging for shipping.

Yep, mine did the same thing and I was sent repair parts immeditatly for the price of shipping.

Oh, I might add they also sent repair parts for the other fan even though it has not yet failed.

Just finished the repair about an hour ago....simple.

we had a problem with the cover trying to go up and down... called them and they were extremely helpful.... recommended we remove and reattach the wires in the thermostat and "clean the rain sensor"- this was probably the issue. It was filthy!! I had never even looked up there before.

Now it works fine and they sent us a replacement part for the "push/pull" manual plastic piece which broke from all the up down motion. (no charge for shipping or the part)
