We used to do that where we grew up. I love it. But one piece of advice ---- don't sleep in the nude............

Lots of the cabins here in Georgia, especially those lakeside or up in the mountains, have screened in sleeping porches. Wish I was where I could have one now, but I am too close in to "city" and near a major hwy.

The Italians say the Americans are nuts. They eat outside and s**t in the house.

Now they can say, they sleep outside and s**t in the house.

My grandparents had a back screen porch on their house in 'Old' Sugar Land on Oyster Creek. I spent many a night sleeping out there and loved it. Had many good times there.

That's MY kind of camping. It's just a big RV with no wheels (or neighbors).

Few comments to your posts (thanks for all the nice comments too):

Nude? yea ... already figured that one out ...
Bathroom inside? well ... when you don't have neighbors and it's dark outside ... who needs to go "inside" anyway! (at least when "watering" the earth)
Skeeters? Haven't had any (remarkable, no bugs). Maybe the heat is just too hot for them too. We tried sleeping on the porch last years. Never could. Couldn't even sit on it because the skeeters were so bad. This year, nada! Very nice.
Fans? Yea. even outside it's been incredibly hot! Fans worked great. Maybe keeping them running kept the skeeters away. Skeeters don't like moving air.
Sleep overs? SURE! You're welcome any time. Coffee maker has a timer on it! Don't even have to get up to get it started!

(Slept out there again last night - Sunday night - Temperatures dropped almost 30 degrees. Thought we were going to freeze to death!) Still had fun. Took the television from the camper on the porch yesterday ... that was nice!)

I LOVE that! Reminds me of the days when we would sleep on the farmhouse porch in sleeping bags. Got a similar porch now, but in town. Hell, our neighbors already think we lost our marbles.
