I have a Winguard Road Kind Dome Dish on the roof, however there is a Old Bigger crank up sat.
Do the Heads on the Dish's go bad ? or can I just run a New wire cord from the old Bigger Dish into the rig.
the reason I'm thinking of getting the old dish up and running is that the "dish" area in the dome is so little that when we have trouble getting a signal I was thinking with the old dish I would have more surface area to "catch" the Beam. is this correct or does it make any difference at all ?
Is it worth repairing, rewiring and perhaps putting a new Head on it ?
I do not have a HD Box or HD Dome as this time, but if need be can the old dish be upgraded to a HD ?
I know there is a lot of questions here, but I'm hoping someone can shade some light on it for me.
The bigger DISH that you mention will get a better signal yes. Size matters in this instance . You can run more than one TV off of that bigger Dish also with out switching satellites .
The Dish does not go bad but maybe the movement hardware does .
If the locating and movement hardware work yes a new cable will work for your TV
Winegard is a great company and will sell you any needed repair parts if the Dish needs any repair parts, note if it is the auto locate DISH you will need the inside control unit also to turn it on and watch it function through its necessary phases .
