Going to look at an '06 Itasca class C tonight. I'm guessing it's built on an '05 chassis. How do I know if it's the "better" tranny? If it has the tow / haul button on the tip of the tranny shifter, that's good right?

Thanks!

If it has the tow haul it is a torqshift five speed. The torqshift came out in motor homes in 05.Great transmission love the way it down shifts on hills saves brakes.

Better than 4R100 which is better than E4OD. Both of the "4" transmissions are four-speed overdrive and the switch on the end of the shift lever is marked "OD Off."
Owning one with 4R100 and having driven one with E4OD, those operate about the same. Having driven two with TorqShift, the extra gear isn't as important to me as the better shifting strategies it uses. And as noted above, the Tow/Haul mode is very smart.
