If you have items that can be frozen - meat, juice, bottled water, etc., freeze it down at home. If you have room in your camper fridge for it, freeze a gallon milk jug of water solid...it will keep your food cold and give the fridge a jump start.

Stock it with cold stuff and a bag of ice if you have room for it wouldn't hurt either. I like the idea of a frozen jug of water that has been mentioned better than the bag of ice.

If you're not going camping till this weekend you have plenty of time to just put the frig on electric. It will get cold in one day (at least mine does). Don't forget to switch to propane when you leave.

Mine gets cold overnight, plugged into AC at home. Propane for the drive to keep it working.

Start it on propane for a day, as propane is quicker.

I just turn on the fridge and put all food in a cooler with ice on our way. After a few hours when fridge is cold put food in the fridge then fill cooler with beer. Put cooler with beer outside so beer is handy and easily available.

OP may not have a place to plug in at home. In our area we aren't allowed RV's in our driveways (Air Force Base) so we always end up having to take a cooler with the goods and then start chilling the fridge when we arrive. The camper sits in a storage lot when not used.
