Congratulations! Have a great trip. If your wife isn't that "outdoorsy" a trailer is definitly the way to go. RV travel is so much better for family time than staying in hotels, IMHO.

Well here are some pics from the first family camping trip!
The last photo sums up our first camping experience. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again soon! Thanks to rv.net for the advice on many different topics which helped me prepare for our trip!

That's fantastic! So glad you had fun! I sincerely hope your kiddos talk about their camping days (and many more of those!) for weeks to come! My two (2 and 7) both yell out "CAMPER!!" whenever we see them on the road now. Makes my heart happy.

Congratulations! We will come and go but memories last and making moments count with the family will be all that matters.

Thanks for sharing your pictures! Looks like the family had a great time! One idea to add to your trailer is a bait bucket and net for the kids. Many years ago we gave each of our boys one for Easter. They loved them! Anytime kids are near water a bucket and net are a must. We still have them in the camper even though our boys are teens. The last trip my son pulled them out to entertain a friend's young son. Boys will be boys!

Congrats on the new-to-you camper! Sounds like you put a lot of sweat and love into fixing it up and making it safe for the kiddies, your family should be proud of you!
Also, Kudos to you for doing a backyard camping shake down first before heading out on the road. IMHO should be a must-do for all new campers!
Enjoy your first trip out, take lots of pictures, and don't forget to share them with us. > edit: oops I posted before your pics loaded!

Glad you had fun. Did the DW enjoy it too? My 5 yr old always asks when we are going camping again. She gets upset every time it is time to come home. As the DW that was resistant to get into it, I do all the driving and inside prep. DH does all the outside prep and all maintenance. I am now addicted and am always looking for an opportunity to go.
