Well, next week we will test the replies that we received, and give hwy 20 a test. We will leave the valley and go to Clear Lake the first night, and then on to Ft Bragg the next day for a week on the coast. We will report on our impressions.

Enjoy your trip. Make sure you try the new bbq place just South of the bridge. It doesn't look like much from the street, but they have amazing bbq. It is run by the same chef who operates Cafe Beaujolais in Mendocino.

That area is on our list....again/still.
Last time stayed at Casper Beach and access to the beach was great but the sites were tight...even for our 25' TT. Now with our new rig we would like to try some place else.
Oh...and we love good food!!! How about seafood places?

I highly recommend Pomo rv park just one mile South of hwy 20. We have been staying there for over 20 years and are never disappointed. As far as great seafood, you can't go wrong with Silver's at the wharf down on the North side of Noyo harbor. It's not inexpensive by any means, but we always go there at least once on each of our twice yearly trips to Fort Bragg.

Thanks...will definitely make it a stop next time we head that way.
See 4 or 5 things that would work for me on their great looking menu.

We just got back from 10 days at pomo... look out for the skunks. Our dog got sprayed. Otherwise, it was a great trip and we love the campground. Our only issue is the lack of ATT cell there. And the Willits highway is fine... not a big issue at all.

Well today we made the drive on 20, not a bad trip, as long as you took it slow. There was one construction zone but it was well marked and controlled, there were some logging trucks running, so they may not be through logging, but all in all , a trip worth making just for the scenery. Pomo Rv Park is really nice, we are out in the woods and enjoying for the next week.
PS. The AT&T really does suck but the free Tengointernet came through!
