Evening all-
First post for me concerning my FW.
After this last trip to the desert, we bought our first rig, a 2012 Dutchmen Infinity. Well, we did PDI the trailer and simply missed an obvious problem that you can see on several pictures on the internet.... on the 3470RE with all framless windows, the side bedroom slide windows do not fully clear the side of the trailer when the slide is all the way out. This means, since they obviously crank out at the bottom, you cannot actually open them past about 1/2 way and pushing against the weather strip piece and even the side around the slide. Obviously, this isn't ideal to say the least and a must when we are boondocking to get any air into the bedroom.
Has anyone here come across an issue like this? Camping World tried to adjust the slide to go further, but its at the end and even starting bending the framework when they tried. And worse, now that they did, I can see day light at the base near the corners when the slide is out letting in fun insects and my A/C out... Any experience anyone has with a problem like this would really help. I'm just really starting to get frustrated, we've had so many unforeseen problems with this trailer. It has gone in the shop that is 180 miles away 6 times now for 40 days and counting while we dont get to enjoy the darn thing. (largest slide wire loom snapped/severed all the wires to one motor, water pump failed and plumbing was crimped, hydralic fluid leaking all over the front compartment, auto level system voltage errors, a apparent roof leak and about 15 other small problems that cropped up ((and thats not including little things like a small piece of trim coming off)).
Thanks-
B.J.

Ever contact the manufacture? They might have a way of solving the problem like new parts. If it can't be fixed, it goes back to them under the lemon law. Take plenty pictures and a log of shat took place each time to the shop and what you have had to deal with. TYhe pic's and log may come in handy if you have to return it.
Tis another fine day to serve in and for the glory of the Corps. Every day is a holiday and every meal a feast.

Wow!!! Sorry for all your problems. It's really frustrating trying to get these things fixed. If you bought this 5th wheel at Camping World, I would repost this under the "Dear Marcus" forum. He has been great in getting things taken care of for CW customers. Good luck. Hope everything gets taken care of so you can enjoy your FW.

It's a factory problem...CW is only a dealer doing the service work and they will be the go between.
Sorry to hear about your Infinity issue but hang in there they should be resolved.
Best of luck.

I did contact Dutchmen once, I got a call back from CW about 2 hours later to schedule another service. So I'm a little stumped now.

Sorry to hear about all the troubles. RV'ing should be a hobby not a job, even though they are both about the same amount of work. You clearly have a job on your hands.

The problem you mention isn't only evident on the bedroom slide. You'd expect that the window mounted in the sidewalls of the slide to be centered in the width of the sidewall. On the other slides, the window edge is just barely clear of the slide seal also. Very strange.
I hope I'm wrong but the manufacturer will probably tell you that it's designed that way instead of admitting that it's an engineering screw-up.

Can't help with the repair issues, but the side windows in our bedroom slide are single hung, meaning the bottom half just slides up to open. The side windows in our living area slide are also single hung, but are larger and slide open side to side.
Maybe you can find a pair of that type in the right size to replace the crank-out ones.
I know what a big issue that is, windows by the bed were a non-negotiable criteria in our fiver search.

It sounds like it needs to be handled and fixed by the manufacture, CW isn't getting it done for you.

Please...CW can do the service with direction from Dutchmen.
Some of you are way to quick to pounce on CW.
