I have a 2011 Winnebago Adventurer. We are have mostly small silver pieces, some larger about 2 inches, being blown out of the air vents. Is this something that needs to be checked or is is just excess from installation at the factory.

To my knowledge there isn't anything involved in the air conditioner that would generate "silver pieces" --- it's just a fan blowing air through/over coils. If so I suspect your dealing with left over crud from the build.

If these pieces are coming out of the duct vents it is probably just because when the person cut the holes in the duct work he didn't clean out the cuttings from the duct. You could try to look in the duct work and see if it was clean and maybe vacuum it out. If it is coming out of the AC, then it sounds serious!

I think I'd at least clean the filter and take a look inside to see what might be going on. Could be some varmit built a nest of some sort.

I am inclined to agree with the lazy cutter explanation.
The only "Silver" I can imagine is the metal or possibly a plastic insulation sheet in the duct work and the cutter just was sloppy.
The only other silver is the evaporator fins and it is nearly 100% (like 99.long string of 9's) likely that is NOT the problem.
