Maxxis seems to be tire of choice. I like mine.

Maxxis without question. Do a search in here on tires. You will find out all you need to know on every brand and the strength and weaknesses of each.

I have no idea but I noticed Sam's Club sells Greenball for a good price. I'd like to know how they compare with the rest.

This past weekend, I had blew a Carlisle tire blow out while on the highway at 60 mph. The tires were 5 years old. I store the trailer indoors, so the tires looked like new (no cracks or signs of drying out). After the blow out, I spent the night in the next town and replaced all 4 just to be safe. I installed Goodyear Marathons on the trailer. I had heard good things about them, but soon realized after installing them that they are made in China. They performed well the balance of the trip (1000 miles), with no issue.

The tire store's advise was to replace the tires at 5 year intervals regardless of brand and ensure that cold inflation pressures are monitored daily while towing. After having to change a tire along the side of a busy highway and spending $600 unplanned, I plan to do exactly this. This is not an experience I want to repeat.

FYI - The Carlisle tires were inflated to the exact pressure. Although they were 5 years old, I learned that the manufacture date is stamped on the sidewall of the tire. Next to the "DOT" label there is a 4 digit code. The first 2 digits represent the week they tires were manufactured and the last 2 digits represent the year. The tires were actually 7 years old. They must have been old stock when I purchased them. It was 102 degrees the day I had the blow out. I wonder if this contributed to the issue?

I replaced all my TT tires with Maxxis this year before we took our trip to Yellowstone. The OEM tires were Chinese made, I wasn't comfortable making the trip with them. Given that we drove the last 4 days home in 105+ degree heat I am really glad I made the change when I did.

Today, I replaced my boat trailer tires with the exact same Maxxis tires. My boat trailer tires were OEM, 12 years old and looked to be "new" as the trailer/boat is garage kept. I don't pull the boat far, or often but felt that I was pushing things on tires that old.

I am switching out My MADE IN CHINA Goodyear Marathon's next year. I will move up to the MAXXIS brand tires. I had them on my first TT and because I traded up on TT's every two years, I never worried about tires.

Maxxis...if they have the size and load range you need.
If you want a "D" rated in a 14" then Kumho 857's would be my choice.

Depends on the tires size and load range you need and how often the trailer is used. Also is the trailer ran on the interstate at those speeds or local runs on two lane state highways.

Do a google on each tire brand you mentioned. A google gives feedback from all types of trailer forums, not just a RV.
Pay close attention to experiences from owners with your size trailer and your size tires.

I had Les Schwab order my Maxxis tires. I'm sure they have a store or two in Carson City. Over 10,000 miles on mine now, still happy.
