I have searched all over the van and have found breakers but no fuses. I flipped the breakers back and forth (all were turned on, including the breaker found on the generator itself) and the microwave kicked on. So, assuming it was fixed, I head out camping and go to turn the AC on and and nothing. I flipped the breakers back and forth and nothing happens this time...
Being that this is an intermittent problem do you guys think I have a loose wire somewhere? If this does not work I am considering taking it to an RV shop, but I really really dont want to do that!
With the genny off, and disconnected from shore power I would first check to make sure ALL connections on the breakers and terminals are tight. Loose conections are a notorious problem.

I never fail, I just succeed in finding out what doesn't work
Please, tell us what RV you have, and what A/C. It may save us some 'if-or' typing.
Check the upper cabinets, especially near the A/C on the left side. Sometimes they just use a conventional plug box for the A/C. If so, try plugging in a light or something similar. It's possible that the issue is in the A/C or its controls, and not the circuitry.

If yours has the sophisticated energy management system, like my friends, it may be working properly. Hers sheds loads in a predetermined manner until it runs the remaining items. For instance, if the batteries require a lot from the converter/charger, the AC, Microwave, and Water Heater will not work. As soon as the batteries require less energy then the others will work. Probably not all at once though with a 2.8 generator.
Just for search purposes. It was the box that transfers power from the generator to my appliances. It was 120 bucks plus 80 to install. If you are having this problem I suggest you check the transistor box before taking it in.
