Asked this somewhere else, but I'd like to get an answer a bit faster.

So our ducted air conditioner on our 2001 Carriage Cameo isn't blowing cool. I read about cleaning it out, so I bought the foam and went to the roof to do it.

I get up there, and the fins look clean from the outside, but they fall off if you touch them slightly.

Can I replace the rusted pump part and call it good, or do I need to replace the whole unit?

We have 30 amps on the Trailer, so I'd need a inexpensive AC as a replacement, I'm open to suggestions if we have to go this route.

Its time to take that one off the RV and put it out of its misery. To me, repairs are hopeless!

I regularly see used units on Craigslist for $300 on up. New ones start around $600.

Sorry,

Todd

$500-700 isn't out of the question, but what do I look for when buying a new one, and is mounting it just a bolt in operation?

How long is your trailer? You will want either a 13.5 or 15K btu unit. Is it ducted? Once you remove the inside cover there are four bolts that hold it to the roof. Unplug the shore power, disconnect the ac wires and the thermostat wires, take out the four bolts, get a couple friends and lift it off the roof. To install a new one just follow the above but backwards.

Replace it with a 15k unit and dont look back. Getting the new unit on the roof is the hardest part of the install. getting the old one down is fast just toss it off and pick up the pieces. Good luck, will

Yes it's ducted. 31 foot trailer. 15k would be fine, but we want low draw (amps) and we only have a 30 amp trailer.

As said, get a new one.

Mounting it is easy, getting it up to the roof is the hardest part. 4 bolts + the wiring is all it is.

I am fine with getting a new one. I've linked to one that I like because of the low power draw. I just want to know what else I might need to buy with that one. Also if we can get a 15k unit with my 30 amp trailer.
