Looked at the new Vengeance toy hauler 40ft. Dealer said my bed rail measures at 63" to the ground.

After lifting the trailer, you should be able to install storage bins underneath and have your wife store all her food and "Lucy's bolders" there. Than would help to help center of gravity down - a little.

Maybe additional fresh water/gray/black water tanks also.

Alot of the off roaders lift their trailers for the needed clearance off road. See lots of lifted trucks and 5ers out here in Cali. Haven't really noticed any problems.

Most suggest a frame and spring shop. You are likely looking to lift the 5er about 6" to 8", best way is to add a sub frame at the wheels with the correct lift. This is usually done with 2"Xx" thick wall steel tubeing.

That should give you enough room to put 35x17 on the camper too! Should make it a real entertaining to tow in a big crosswind.

Good luck with your set-up...

Yep, subframe is the proper way to lift a trailer.

Do you feel your lifted truck is safe? Your lifted trailer will be similarly safe/unsafe as your truck. Whatever your comfort level is will dictate what you do. Or, you can lower the truck back down to stock height and put some smaller tires on it....

my biggest question would be how you can lift a 13'4" tall rig another 8". that would make it 14' tall. just a bit over the fed limit and a problem when towing in MI anyway.

By no means would I want to jeaporized any one including self or family.I was concerned aswell of being top heavy. Was just seeing if it has been done and being safe.

My trucks are the way I like them and and I like to go to car truck shows with it.
