The only purpose I have seen for this testing is to SELL the results for profit to people who for some reason feel the need to spend money to supposedly find out the lineage of their mixed breed dog, again for what reason?
A random thought: so people who own a "pitbull-appearing" dog can prove it's actually some wildly-exotic mix and are allowed to keep it in a city with breed bans?? There would be money to be made in offering a service like that.... ;-)
I've already seen ample rescue groups try to name a pitbull mix ANYTHING but the obvious - yet when we read that 70-some percent of all pitbulls haven't been neutered - well gosh, those dogs surely aren't running loose and procreating......
