I replaced my batwing with a Jack. It was very easy the problem came about the fifth time I used it. I had a weak signal and turned off the 12 V DC and then back on. That killed my Jack. Luckily I had the old batwing and put it back on. The Jack did get digital signals better; before it died.
That should not have killed it. And the warranty should have covered it. You didn't junk it did you?

I hade the same problem with my boot not staying on after replacing the cable ( lots of calk). I found out that I did not put a loop in the cable at the roof. Without the loop the boot would come off every time.

I have the old style tv in my '02 Discovery and have the batwing on top. Doesn't work the best and am planning on putting in a lcd before long. Will the Jack work for me and is there a certain model # I should look for.

only one model I know of, and yes, it will work perfectly. It mounts on the same mast your batwing is on. Only need a pair of needle nosed pliers to take the snap rings off the end of the little rods that hold the batwing in place.

Lobstah - there are actually two models. Yours is the unit that replaces the head on the Winegard bat wing. The other model is complete and mounts directly on the roof. It is about 10 inches tall and rotates from inside the coach on an interior roof mouted control box that includes an amplifier and a four LED signal strength indicator to assist in locating digital stations. It is also installed on many of the new coachs as OEM including all Winnebago units.

Although I like the idea of the small footprint of the Jack I just can't see it performing as good as the batwing. Most of the new digital programming is in the UHF band so I can see it doing as good up there and not as good lower. The batwing takes up roof real estate that could better utilized by another solar panel.

It still bugs me that they call these digital antennas as technically there is of course no such a thing as a digital antenna. Now I'm just being anal.

It has the standard "limited one year warranty".
