With or without major mods, as long as they sound good when turned up and the whole campground can here the crystal clarity of them is all that really matters. There you go Dave...that should get this thread going.

OP, I can't help with your question, but would like comment on the topic. Our outside speakers were replaced by the dealer with Sony's. Now I have the same problem as others, can not hear them good. Need to increase the volume, then is too loud inside. Took it back to the dealer. Waiting for them to solve the problem.

I put these in, POLK SPEAKERSthey are 2 1/6" depth but came with a 1/4" spacer that I used and had to add the tweeter to the outside too. They sound great and are very clear. Granted, I did some work and was able to run new wires and lef the crossovers behind the stereo.

How hard was it to run new wires? I upgraded with decent marine grade speakers, but I think the factory junk speaker wire is too small gauge.

pretty easy when the siding is off the trailer, from what I've seen the wires go up the wall, to the roof, then out the wall and done. Even though a much shorter run might be straight through the wall, so pulling wire could be difficult.
