I just have to tell you all about how great our new Viair 40047 RV tire inflator really is.
We bought it online for about $245 a couple of months ago & have used it several times in the past with great results.
Today I hooked it up to the battery & went around to each of the six tires & topped them off as needed. When thru & packing up the Viair I felt like that old commercial said sometime ago, that you will forget the price paid for the item & be delighted with it for many years to come.
This is probably the best money I have ever spent on RVing.
Now we can air up any tire, any time & any where as long as we have 12 volts power.
Just had to share my thoughts on how to air up our tires ??
Later.

Not to throw cold water on your post but I would never leave a tire inflating un attended. I own an auto repair shop and had a mechanic leave the air hose atached to a suv tire. He then leaned it against the inflate pedalof the tire machine to attend to a customer. Well the resulting explosion was devastating took out windows and damaged a few vehicles, thank god no one was standing near.

Not sure what Chuck's post is referring to in the Original post. I didn't read that he left the compressor hooked up for extended period. I am curious how large this is.

It is a small carry around light compressor & NO it is not left unattended while inflating. In fact you have to squeeze the air control handle to release air into a tire.
Do a Google search for this item for pics & info.

We have a flat saucer tank compressor that we bought from Lowes. It will pump 150 pounds. On a big trip I throw it in the back of the toad. With the generator it can be used anywhere.

If you've only had this compressor 2 mos. & have had to use it several times to air up/top off your tires I think you have a REAL PROBLEM that is NOT being addressed.

I carry a small 12 volt compressor in the Jeep in case I need to air up the Jeep tires if I am away from the MH.
I use the on board air system to air up the tires on the MH. The Journey came with a 50 hose. I have even been able to help others with low tires.

Bill in FL,
You have a Tiffin 36' Phaeton diesel pusher don't you? If so, your engine has a on board air compressor. All you need to do is tie into a air line somewhere, and I think the quik connection tie in is already there.
