Read a lot of post where fellow campers were using Pine cleaners so I decided to get some information pertaining to the use of these chemicals, first I wanted to know of the toxins that were in the products since I have health issues that toxins are a nono. It is very toxic and has even been linked to the death of some small dogs especially if you use it to scrub floors. The other thing I found out was that it is not suggested to be used on rubber it will attack and soften rubber breaking down its make up I wrote to the pine sol website to get this info see below what I recieved from them.

Dear Mr. Bailey,

Thank you for contacting us about your Pine-Sol Cleaner. We always appreciate hearing from our consumers.

Unfortunately, this is not recommended for rubber.

Again, thank you for contacting us.

Sincerely,

Interesting!

Tiffin recommends using "pine cleaner" to deodorize holding tanks. I wonder if the seals on the gate valves are actually rubber or something else.

I have heard of people using pine sol and Clorox to cut down the smell in the black tank, also heard that it is not a good idea since
the product make a acid that is not good for you when mixed with urine.

2X and I think the 1 cup in all that water won't hurt any rubber. Maybe if you used it full strength cleaning on rubber it might but not that diluted in a tank. It works well for me.
