I usually see a post about the cost of an injector pump. Do any of the modern day diesels out there have an injector pump?
I am only familiar with the HEUI (hydrauli electric unit injector)system on the powerstrokes. no injector pump there for years.

Not so far , and 100k miles. Found about a pinch of what looked like sand in the bottom of my filter canister though.

Never a drop of water found in 135,000 miles on my 2002 Dodge Cummins. It had a Bosch high pressure injection pump, a VP-44 model as I remember
Water in the fuel was a problem with my 41 foot sailboat when in the Carribean. Had two large Racor filters that would often catch large amounts of water.

No, they have a much more simple (but have tighter tolerances) High Pressure pump.

No, I never have.
But then, when I was working on aircraft, we drained the sump on every fuel tank every morning as part of the daily inspection, and we VERY seldom found any water or dirt.
But, we did it every morning anyway.

That's a good point and in fact I have been doing that all along, especially in cold, damp climates. I usually hang out in the desert southwest so the issue isn't as great but I still fill up when the tank is about half full (or half empty, depending if you're an optimist or pessimist )

Yes, Flying J exit 201 Jackson GA. Light came on within 20 miles, when I stopped and drained the filter I could smell the water. That was the 1st time I'd ever seen the DIC message. I get lot of false DIC messages now that quite a few of the retailers are now selling bio-blend. Even changed the sensor with no change.

My last 3 psd trucks have all had the WIF light come on. everyone had water in them and once after filling up I drained it 3-4 times and got 2-3 quarts of water out of it. I will never buy diesel from stores with above ground tanks as they seem to have more water in them, atleast in this area. I drain mine once a month or so because these newer trucks tend to have alot of problems if water makes it to the pump and injectors.JMO, WILL

Yes. once.
the truck started missing. We pulled over into a parking lot and I drained the filter bowl. I never saw any water but I didn't have the means to catch the fuel as it drained.
we were only 10 miles from home. Drove it home, drained the bowl again this time catching the fuel in a container, never saw any signs of water, replaced the filter. the truck has never acted that way again. but I assumed it had water in it.
edit
The WIF lite never came on.
