Since some of you are familiar with the Augusta area, I was wondering where the best place to take 20 people to eat there. Some like Old McDonald's Fish Camp and some like French Market Grille.

Of those two, if I wanted to eat good food I'd go to the French Market. If I was paying for 20, I'd go to Old McDonald's. Old McDonald's is pretty cheap but unfortunately you get what you pay for.

Sconyers is a good suggestion, and is a local landmark.

Sconyers would probably be a better choice than Old McDonald's. We like good food and good southern veggies. Old McDonald's Fish Camp sounds like catfish and alot of fried, which we don't like. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't get me wrong Old McDonalds is a good choice. Have gone there for years. When we last lived in the area, North Augusta, we were only a couple miles from it. Nothing better than the endless hush puppies and grits. But yes, a lot of fried everything. French Market Grill is ok, but would not be my choice of the top 5 places to go to in Augusta. I would probably pick a chain restaurant over it. If you are taking 20 people, someone or some of them are not goi to like it.

Sconyers has been around for decades. I remember when the house used to sit down closer to Windsor Spring Rd. When they decided to build the strip mall and move the house was a bad idea in my opinion. A lot of augusta's history was made over some Sconyers BBQ. Larry Sconyers and his family has been an important part of Augusta.

Anytime my sisters or my brother would come home to visit, we always asked for Sconyers BBQ.

Old McDonalds also offers a broiled choice.

We always visit Sconyers. It's the best BBQ around.

We stayed at Ridge Rd COE a couple weeks ago.

Happy Camping!
John.

Just arrived at Heritage RV Park in Augusta GA. Could not have been more pleased. The site is beautiful with brand new picnic tables and nice gravel sites with new fixtures. Cable and Internet as well. We even have a tree. We are close to the mall and Washington Road.
